As a resident of Oakville for over 20 years I disagree with the plan to add 11 towers, which would be between 45 and 56 storeys to the mid town area around the Oakville Go Train station.
I love just around the corner from the station and am in the area most day - traveling on the Go Train, shopping, doing groceries, etc... and it is already a busy area most times of the day. Travelling up and down Trafalgar at the best of times can be slow so adding that many building and residents to that area would create too much congestion to this already congested area.
While I am not opposed to growing Oakville and understand the benefits of building up residential around the Go Train, a more controlled and smaller approach should be taken. While it may not reach the same numbers of residents the province wants to add, over saturating the area I believe will cause the opposite effect by having people avoid the area all together and what we want is more people using the Go Train and shopping in the area. If we can't get to the station and area due to this congestion then we will be forced go elsewhere and travel more by car which in the end defeats the purpose.
