I strongly oppose the proposed restructuring of Ontario’s Conservation Authorities. I’ve listened to many arguments against the proposal, including from Tim Lanthier, Grey Sauble Conservation’s CAO, and the executive of the Escarpment Corridor Alliance. It is wrong to reduce 36 local organizations into 7 large regional bodies. The needs of individual regions and their watersheds within all have different pressures and needs. You do the public and the local ecologies a disservice to shrink them down to 7 regions. You are not conserving, you are destroying.
