I am a local resident. There has been no clear justification for this proposed amalgamation. The Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA) is one of the City of Hamilton’s departments with a strong record of success and responsiveness. Its work is led by dedicated people who live in the communities near the trails and natural areas they care for. Moving toward larger, less locally focused authorities would weaken responses to local issues. This change represents yet another cut that diminishes our quality of life and puts our natural heritage at risk. No!
