Consolidating conservation Authorities to fewer watershed regions is the wrong descision.
No one knows more about local area wetlands, creeks, streams, habitats, woodlands and their health then the individuals jurisdictions. Not only in recent years but through out generations, weather impacts all areas differently.
In the newly proposed st Lawrence region, flooding rain events or on the flip side, long season droughts can be observed both In neighbouring counties in the same calendar year.
Stretching out the conservation area base beyond where the current boundaries are will erode the goal of protection and lead to 'watered down data results as there will ultimately be fewer employees taking fewer samples in fewer areas.
This is not a step in the right direction to encourage beneficial ecological rehabilitation in localized areas where it is needed.
