I think the amalgamation of CAs into just 7 regional bodies will be a net negative for Ontarians. We need to keep the decision making at the local level especially when it come to the environment. Each CA has unique local context that will potentially get forgotten or lost in the amalgamation. Surely there are other policies that could be considered to help CAs generate money instead of cutting costs through amalgamation. Let's get creative and put the power back into local decision making!
