I am opposed to the regional consolidation of Ontario's conservation authorities. Through my involvement with sporting clubs in the Niagara Region, I have had the opportunity to work with the NPCA on several occasions. I have also attended the community consultation sessions they have organized to discuss the contamination remediation in Lyons Creek. They have always done an excellent job of communicating with stakeholders and the community at large. I feel that consolidation of Ontario's conservation authorities would jeopardize the relationships created by the NPCA and would divert local expertise away from our region.
