As a tax paying citizen, voter, entrepreneur, real estate investor, and housing consultant, I fully reject and opposed Ontario's proposal to consolidate Conservation Authorities (C.A>).
The proposal to consolidate 36 C.A.s is not supported by the government's own stated intent. Every reason the government has provided to consolidate C.A. can be achieved, more effectively and more efficiently without consolidation. Given the government's stated intention for the consolidation can be achieved without it, it begs the question "what really is the purpose of the consolidation".
Consolidation of C.A. is a disservice to real estate entrepreneurs such as myself who appreciate their local expertise and knowledge. Other government agencies that are larger in staff and spatial scale have been more sluggish, more bureaucratic, and less helpful than C.A.s.
No one is buying the government's proposal as a means to satisfy their stated purpose, most people can see that the government has ulterior motives. I will be excited to work with the media, C.A., municipalities, and academia in a joint partnership and effort to defeat this proposal.
I, along with many others in my industry reject, oppose, and will fight against this
