I believe the current 36 conservation authorities should remain as is and do not agree with the proposed change to seven regional bodies. It is imperative for each location to retain their own conservation authority to ensure a full working knowledge of the area is available when making decisions and/or enforcing rules/regulations. My concern is that, with the proposed change, there will be less focused oversight for one specific region and more of a broad view which can lead to errors in judgment with disastrous consequences. Our natural environment is too important and must be protected as thoroughly as possible. By keeping the 36 conservation authorities, we take a step forward in ensuring a beautiful and balanced natural environment is maintained and nurtured for generations to come.
