This amalgamation does not appear to be in the best interest of the province. The Ford government has a terrible record of transparency and the addition of an Ontario Provincial Conservation Agency suggests the citizens and environment of Ontario will be further harmed to benefit the interest of a wealthy few connected as donors and insiders.

The CAs were built around individual watersheds in response to the disasters associated with Hurricane Hazel. The changes look to reduce capabilities to protect these various watersheds by reducing the focused capacity. The new designations are illogical. Huron-Superior Regional Conservation Authority have extremely different ecoregions involved. The Northeastern Ontario Regional Conservation Authority is extremely disconnected. The way this government has negatively viewed the ecological health of this province suggests that by making these CAs so large they cannot be properly taken care of providing poor quality data to dispute efforts to sell of parcels of land.

This proposal is a disgrace to the environmental stewardship of the Drew progressive conservative government that created the Conservation Authorities Act.
