Regional conservancies plan
I am against the consolidation of Ontario's conservation authorities. Past history of consolidation of any government programs and buildings e.g. hospitals has not worked. Costs tend to go up not down although that is espoused to be the goal. Having local input is critical - not as a guest but as part of the authority. The local knowledge or dedication cannot be maintained by a distant authority. It appears as if the current government is not in support of helping our environment and instead putting in policies and programs that undermine the previous work done by many volunteers and experts in our province to maintain or improve our natural environment. Most of us use and enjoy our conservation areas in our province even if we live in urban areas. Do not destroy our natural gifts for the sake of money which benefits only a few influential persons.
