Combining the conservation authorities might look like it’ll save money, but it won’t save money long term. After different areas get flooded out, or have even lower tree cover, further environmental disaster is going to come.
Who is really going to care for the small areas that are far from main cities?
More places will be struggling to save their environments with even less funding to do so.
You all can’t even take care of the most concerning invasive plants/animals/insects now, and with these larger areas….these invasives will become even more out of control. Something like giant hogweed or knotweed will become exponentially more harmful to the infrastructure and human and animal health.
Sometimes “saving” money isn’t really saving money at all, when it comes at the expense of the environment. We all only have one planet.
