As part of the watershed of Ausable-Bayfield with a creek that floods regularly, I can only see this as a negative. The provincial government is creating a situation where it will be easy to exclude landowners in crisis situations as the weather becomes more extreme and the once in a 25 yr flood situation happens every 5- or less- which is what we see.
The creek goes from 10 feet wide to 100 feet or more. The local conservation people keep me informed as to possible fixes- and yearly visit the property- plus they are an email away. We are partners in this situation. How will this continue in the future? Somewhat similar to the school board situation? Ignore and hope it goes away because you don’t want to spend the money?! Would rather I received decent services for my taxes…..
