Merging CA’s is a terrible idea. For example, the amalgamation of municipalities not only caused many areas to lose their identity but also allowed funds to be reallocated to other areas for which they should not. As a result, certain areas lack the funds and man power they need to operate due to overregulation and oversight from the centralized body. The same will result from merging CA’s. Centralized control will result in more dollars spent on paperwork and bureaucracy and less spent on achieving actual conservation initiatives.
