Dear sir or madam,

As a resident of old Oakville (not far from your own party member's constituency office), I am very concerned about the proposal for four zoning orders to construct the condo towers between Cross Ave and the South Service Rd.

While a Transit-Oriented Community is a sensible planning strategy for increased housing in suburbs like ours, that level is of density at that particular location ignores the reality of the impact this would have on our community. Already, it can take over half an hour to travel up Trafalgar Rd from downtown Oakville to Oakville Place, a mere 3km away. Adding thousands of residents in the middle of that corridor would make it nigh impossible for residents to get to/from their homes at the very times of day when we are already struggling (getting our children to school, and getting home from work in time to eat dinner with them).

Part of what makes Oakville such an appealing choice for young families like ours, is the balance between livability and ease-of-access to public infrastructure like the QEW and Go Train, which allows us to effectively work in the city. A proposal of this nature adversely impacts both in a significant manner.

I'm sure this plan could be attacked from many other angles as well: knock-on reductions in property values for constituents (many, if not most, of whom have historically supported your party), safety and security concerns, and most critically a lack of solution for the need we have for FAMILY housing in the community. But those are much more complicated and nuanced analyses... the simplest observation is the one seemingly being overlooked by many public opinions I've read: it is already painfully difficult to move in/out of our community on a daily basis, and this proposal would significantly exacerbate that problem.

So much of what this Government has done since being elected has prioritized removing barriers and pain points in the daily life of voters. This proposal flies directly in the face of that approach, which the residents here would have plenty of time to consider while sitting in even worse traffic every day.

Thank you in advance for reconsidering this matter.
