I vote against the provincial request for 4 Minister's Zoning Orders for the TOC in the Town of Oakville.
MZOs would force reckless density on Midtown Oakville, overwhelming services that are already stressed. Oakville does not deserve the chaos and lack of livability that would result.
In addition, MZOs would eliminate affordable housing requirements, but would maximize developer land value.
Oakville already meets/exceeds housing requirements through OPA70. OPA70 is aligned with the changing housing market.
The Auditor General has commented on the downside of MZOs. Planning is better left to local municipalities.
Please consider all aspects of the flawed Midtown Oakville TOC proposal.
