For the Eastern Fields Wind Power Project, six turbines are sited between 11 and 29 meters from roads, 5 of the turbines no further away than 17.4 meters. This is too close to active roads, for the following reasons: ice throw in the winter (despite what RES says in its Ice Drop Memo), turbine parts being thrown (nuts, bolts, sensors, parts of blades and the blades themselves), birds and bats struck by the blades and flung, burning debris from IWTs that have caught fire, and falling turbines. Not one human life should be sacrificed to the current inadequate setback from the road. The Ontario government is responsible and should take action to protect the citizens of Ontario.
