ENOUGH! ENOUGH! ENOUGH!
For too long have our Provincial Parks been treated as private domains or for profit by a few at the whim of provincial politicians. A lease is a contract and there is no reason to change or extend the present contract. The leaseholders have known for a long time that their leases were to end in 2017 and there is no reason to change this or to give them any reason to think it might be changed. No doubt the proposed extension of the leases is due to political pressure being brought to bear by somone of' 'influence'. This is exactly the kind of dealing that has plagued our parks for too long and it has to stop. The leaseholders in other parks are watching this exercise and will be the next in line if the Rondeau leases are extended. Now is the time for the provincial government to do the right thing rather than the easy thing.
