Dear Mr. Feilders,

We are writing in regards to EBR No. 011-1300.

In regard to the extension of cottager’s leases to 2038, we are registering our opposition to this extension. Cottagers have had thirty year window to prepare for this and have knowingly bought and even built new as recently as two years ago at the turn around on Lakeshore Rd., where we watched newly hatched Killdeer running around in the driveway.

Rondeau Park has been a favourite destination for our family for over thirty years because of its unique ecological features, its location and its accessibility (both for our children when very young and still for us now as seniors.)

We urge you to base your decision on the number one priority of the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act to maintain ecological integrity.

•The Carolinian Forest which makes up the park is unique and fragile, and almost gone in SW Ontario.

•We have noticed that the majority of cottagers landscape and use their property as suburban homes, clearly out of keeping with this mandate. They also limit public access to and /or public protection of to much the shoreline.
