If the proposed changes force Conservation Areas to charge entry fees in order to fund accessibility features such as parking lots and managed trails and boardwalks then the ability of lower income residents of Ontario to enjoy the shared bounty of our beautiful province will be restricted and in some cases totally denied. Some of those people live under the double challenge of low income and physical mobility issues. The current pandemic has reinforced the fact that an individual’s ability to enjoy the great outdoors is a large contributor to good mental health. Please do not make our province’s conservation areas even less accessible.
