Before anything is dismantled, I think the smartest (and safest) thing to do is first establish a much better program to replace the current one. To not have a strong protective environment plan in place is irresponsible, negligent, and frankly the worst course of (in) action. If this government doesn't like cap and trade, then they need to plan a much better option and during that planning stage, they need to keep what's already working in place. Not having anything in place while we wait for a better plan is bad for business, bad for the environment, and bad for health. The new plan MUST be stronger in it's protection of our environment, not weaker. It must have clear targets and target dates. It must be based on the science and not on personal opinions. It must have foresight rather than the current government's fixation on short-term unscientific (backward thinking) beliefs.
