I categorically object to bulldozing through some of Ontario's beautiful land for the sake of additional suburban sprawl. There are some things that you lose, and you can never get them back - this would be a permanent destruction of natural beauty for a half-baked solution to our housing problem. Save the greenbelt, and fix zoning laws that only allow for single-family homes to be built. Allow developers to build denser housing, mid-rises like we used to have. Allow business to exist in the same area as housing, so you can walk to get a coffee instead of driving 15 minutes. Convert unused office space from remote work into housing. Build housing upwards, on top of big box stores, I don't know! There are plenty of options to increase housing supply without desecrating the environment.
