Considering evidence that was provided by multiple researchers, building this highway will cause destruction to the wildlife and surrounding environment. As a government, that plans to also combat air pollution and other contaminants, building this highway will continuously contribute to these growing issues and will further plan for a more clean future. While this plan is a proposed solution to the current housing crisis, there is a significant lack of evidence that the homes built from this project will be affordable or accessible to low-income Canadians, who are currently struggling the most. As the cost of living continues to rise, the people who the homes are targeted towards won't even be able to afford them. Additionally, it cuts through valuable agricultural land which supplies much of Ontario with produce - this could have a detrimental effect on food prices in an already unaffordable province.
