This is a horrific proposal.
The only viable way to reduce car traffic is to provide viable alternatives to driving.
These new highways will only open up more land for suburban development putting even more cars on the road. Thus creating even more traffic.
Invest in trains. Invest in bike infrastructure. Invest in busing and dedicated bus lanes.
