1) Bike lanes make things faster and safer for everyone. As a car-driver, I neither want to get too close to cyclists in the same lane, nor do I want to have to change lanes to pass them. Both are dangerous, even for drivers; changing lanes is when a lot of accidents happen.
2) Province, stay out of municipal business. You have better things that you should be managing, like health care and education. (While we're at it, we don't need more alcohol.)
