The province should not be…

The province should not be involved in the approval of bicycle lanes. This is unnecessary red tape that I believe will slow the approval of future road construction within municipalities and in turn could slow the construction of new residential, commercial or industry areas. The mountain of paper work and approvals needed to build any new infrastructure in Ontario is already too large, I do not see a need to add to it.

Additionally, the province has failed to provide evidence that reducing the number of bicycle lanes or adding one lane of traffic will reduce gridlock in any municipality. Why is province proposing additional red tape to municipal projects, when it is not known if removing bicycle lanes or adding a lane of traffic will reduce gridlock?
