I disagree with the following proposal, as it adds unnecessary overhead to municipal operations and represents provincial overreach into local governance. Municipalities are better suited to manage their own transportation infrastructure without interference, unless they specifically request assistance. Additionally, there is little evidence to suggest that bike lanes cause gridlock. The real issue is the lack of investment in public transit by the Ontario government, which would be a far more effective solution to reducing traffic congestion.
