The proposal to remove…

The proposal to remove existing bike lanes from Toronto streets actively endangers the lives of those in the city who use them to get around, including me and my teenage children. Please don't support this if you don't want to be morally responsible for deaths and life-changing injuries that will inevitably occur along the affected routes if the lanes are removed. Don't play with people's lives just to score cheap culture-war points, when all the evidence shows that bike lanes REDUCE congestion in the city rather than cause it. (The DVP has no bike lanes, but plenty of gridlock)

I understand that some people want to drive. What I don't understand is why these people want to force everyone else to drive as well. I own a car and a bicycle, and when you make it unsafe for me to use my bike, I will drive. But that does not help other drivers. To reduce gridlock, the goal should be to have as few cars on the streets as possible, and bike lanes help with achieving that.
