ontario already has the widest and busiest highway in the world. did it work? no. increasing road capacity only increases demand and in some cases has increased journey times (see link).
building more lanes for over sized, over powered single occupancy trucks at the expense of every other form of transport, has failed and created a truck dependency culture of entitlement and special rights for motorists at the expense of every other voter.
blocking essential affordable housing developments because trucks owners demand more parking has made the housing crisis far worse. more roads means more parking lots. where are these lots going? (see link)
bulldozing neighbourhoods to build motorways has destroyed essential housing, communities and worsened the housing crisis. (see link)
