I am opposed to Bill 4, Cap and Trade Cancellation Act, 2018 because I feel it is premature. It is vitally important that Ontario has a plan to combat and/or prepare for the changes in climate that are now being felt globally. Ontario needs to promote environmental conservation for the protection of our future. While there may be better options than Cap and Trade to bring Ontario in line with global societal and economic changes needed to protect our planet, it is irresponsible to cancel the only thing we have while no replacement plan has been devised. I would suggest that this government carefully come up with a plan to better protect our environment and foster positive change before scrapping the cap and trade arrangement. Please be responsible and consider the future of our children.
