An Ontario without a price on carbon is not an Ontario where I see a future for myself.
Our planet is dying, in large part due to the emission of greenhouse gases and their impacts on our global climate system. The consequences of our pollution are already being seen through the increased rates and severities of forest fires, droughts, and losses in our agricultural sector.
To allow industries and citizens alike to pollute without economic consequence dooms my own and future generations to a world that is far worse off. The goal of this provincial government to repeal an effective tool to mitigate our climate impacts is as harmful as it is flawed.
If you choose to repeal the cap and trade system, replace it with stricter and more costly carbon pricing, otherwise leave it in place.
