The provincial government should be promoting and supporting active transportation such as cycling, not creating obstacles to it. I am disappointed by this initiative to make it more difficult for cities to chose to install life-saving, congestion-battling bike lanes. I live in Ottawa, where the city is finally catching up with the demand for bike lanes. I urge the government to abandon this proposal to stand in the way.
