I am writing to formally express my concerns and strong objection regarding the proposed bio solid facility near Strathroy. As a resident of this community, I believe that the facility poses significant risks to our environment, health, and local resources, particularly with regard to water safety.

One of my primary concerns is the potential contamination of the River and our local water systems. Bio solids, as we know, contain various pollutants, including heavy metals, pathogens, and chemical compounds that can be detrimental if they leach into water sources. Our river is not only a source of drinking water for many residents but also supports local ecosystems, wildlife, and recreational activities that are vital to our community’s quality of life and economy. Any contamination could have lasting effects, endangering public health and diminishing the usability and beauty of our natural resources.

Additionally, the process of transporting, treating, and storing bio solids increases the likelihood of accidental spills or leaks, especially during extreme weather events or operational malfunctions. With climate change leading to more severe weather patterns, including heavier rainfall and flooding, our community faces an increased risk of contaminants being washed into the river and surrounding areas.

As a resident who is invested in the future well-being of our community and natural environment, I urge you to reconsider the location of this facility and fully evaluate its environmental impact. I also request that additional safeguards and public consultations be conducted to ensure transparency in decision-making.
