It is a waste of time and money for the provincial government to gate-keep how municipalities wish to engage with bicycle infrastructure. Municipalities should continue to have the freedom to plan bicycle infrastructure for their communities, the province of Ontario has no justification for adding bureaucracy to these projects at the municipal level. Bill 212 is an embarrassing misuse of power, not to mention a waste of resources, by the province. Stop wasting time and resources micromanaging municipalities, get your own house in order.
