Hi in regards to the storm water runoff for the proposed Biosolids Facility at 25700 Kerwood Rd, you must make your decisions with regards to the nutrient loads that would go directly to the Sydenham River which is simply 2 kms down hill from this facility.
Please see the link below from St Clair Conservation Authority about several species of mussels and fish that depend on the Sydenham River for their survival which is considered a Global Conservation Concern for the persistence of these species. The Rayed Bean Mussel, Salamander Mussel, North Rifleshell and the Northern Madtom Catfish exist only in the Sydenham Watershed or in just one or two other places in North America and they are threatened by Nutrient Loading.
Please take from a kid who grew up on a farm, this material is a fertilizer and needs to managed carefully to prevent rain water and snow melt from carrying it away. I am retired from Shell Canada at a refinery in Corunna in Lambton County, we captured our biosolids in a cement basin where all of the water was captured and treated before it left the site under a program monitored by the Province of Ontario. This site will not be monitored nor will it have it's water effluent tested. The area alone for the handling of this material will be about 3 hectares and it will create more nutrient loading itself. A storage facility needs to be built that will prevent the elements from coming into contact with this material and prevent nutrient effluent into the Sydenham River. If you want to see how this biosolids affects an area please take a look at the previous storage facility in Warwick Township where the material was stored illegally without the municipality's permission that resulted in municipal fines for this biosolids handler. You can still see the biosolids left behind by the loading and unloading for only 2 years where nothing will grow.
The facility must meet more stringent storage criteria to prevent loss of the biosolids to the Sydenham River and less nutrient loading, not more an experimental facility with no monitoring and no controls that is more than likely to add to the Nutrient Loading of the Sydenham River.
