The implementation of Bill 4 Cap and Trade Cancellation Act 2018 is short-sighted and ideologically driven, by poorly educated politicians who are willfully ignorant of the science behind global climate change. All reasonable climate science experts agree that immediate action, and significant action, is required to advert a global climate catastrophe. The UN released a report this week stating such in no uncertain terms. Economic Nobel Laureates, along with other economists expert in the field of climate science, have monitored cap and trade programs running around the globe for over three decades. The consensus is that cap and trade works, and moreover has positive economic benefits. To cancel Ontario's program with no viable alternative in place on a populist whim is dangerous and will impact the lives of my children and all future generations of Ontarians. I strongly disagree with the implementation of Bill 4 as a dangerous and reckless act.
