It is a travesty that politicians who do not know, understand, or appreciate the science behind climate change choose to make rash decisions that will have devastating long term effects on our planet in the name of making a name for themselves by dictatorial means. NOTHING is more important than figuring out a way to make people aware and responsible for our actions now and how they will affect us long term. When you have politicians that have tiny, narrow views but no long term plans everyone loses. We will have higher illness and disease levels, the air, water and earth will no longer nurture us but will be the vehicle of our demise. Mr. Ford may be able to smugly look into the camera and boast how he saved us a few dollars now but will he take responsibility when family members and society in general sicken and die because we were too stupid to not do what is necessary? You only need to look around now and see how climate change has impacted the world from the horrible air in Beijing to the increasing deserts, drying up of lakes, increased forest fires and catastrophic effects of powerful, more frequent hurricanes and other phenomena. Don't cancel something just for the sake of cancelling it. Don't try to save us a few bucks while condemning us to a slow death. Come up with a better, well thought out plan, based on science, and leave in place what we have now until you have a better plan. This is your job as leaders. Sometimes the hardest decisions to make are the wisest and most rewarding.
