It is a terrible idea to remove the existing bike lanes. A lot of times effort, and money has gone into their installation, and they are utilized heavily.
Downtown, we should be trying to move away from cars and towards other modes of transportation such as public transit or bikes. This is a step backwards.
Additionally, there is no reason for the provincial government to have this kind of oversight on a municipal issue.
