This bill would subvert the will of municipal voters. Premiere Ford ran for Mayor of Toronto in 2014 and he lost. In 2023, Torontonians elected a Mayor who explicitly supports the installation of municipal bike lanes. Bill 212 would undermine the Mayor’s authority and effectively disenfranchise millions of voters in Toronto.
