The Drive Clean test should not be cancelled for Light duty vehicles because it is for the consumers' protection on resale cars. If a car has an error code it can be cleared by the seller and the buyer would not know that there was a problem. With the Drive clean test, the problem has to be fixed before it passes the test. In certain U.S States the Drive Clean was cancelled but a mandatory year;y safety inspection was implemented instead. Will there be compensation for the drive clean facilities that have spent a lot of money for this program with the Government? Drive Clean is good for consumer protection, the environment and health.
