I live at the corner of Bloor and South Kingsway - right at one of the intersections at the heart of this debate.

For the past 5 years I have been working to make this intersection calmer after witnessing first hand how unsafe it is. In 2018 my wife and I were responders to a terrible hit and run where one of my neighbours lost her leg, permanently altering her life and nearly killing her. Blood stained the curb outside my house for months.

And this is only one of a dozen accidents I've seen here.

The changes to this intersection and the buffer between cars and pedestrians created by the lanes have vastly improved the safety here. Come ask anyone who has to walk across this intersection.

This is an area with children and families. If you are going to remove the lanes, please keep the bumped out corners at intersections. They save lives.
