Due to the negative outcomes the biosolid storage facilities in the US have had I feel that Ontario should not allow a storage and distribution facility.
The plan for handling the water runoff may sound efficient on paper but in reality will it be? Groundwater and the water system CANNOT risk contamination. The proposed plan is focused on the actual storage facility however since the biosolids will be going to farmers’ fields what will happen in regards to the water management in their areas. Also is the cost of the sewage management system solely on Lasalle Agri or will money be required from the three levels of government. Will regular meaningful inspections be conducted and at whose expense?
If this project goes ahead how much regulation will there be in the future.
Would you like to live and raise a family near a biosolid waste facility knowing that it may be contaminating the close by and connecting waterways?
