This bill is draconian and an incredible overreach of provincial power. This bill would do nothing to solve grid lock and instead promote worse traffic across the entire province. Forcing municipalities to request approval from the province for something as trivial as a bike lane would simply discourage any new bicycle infrastructure, a fact that I’m sure is not unknown to the authors. Never has adding an extra lane solved traffic. I urge that this bill be rejected and its supporters take a hard critical rethink of their position.
