Hamilton Water supports the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks via the Environmental Registry of Ontario proposed changes to Ontario Regulation 208/19: Environmental Compliance Approval in Respect of Sewage Works and Ontario Regulation 172/03: Definition of “Deficiency” and “Municipal Drinking-Water System,” as outlined in Environmental Registry of Ontario posting 019-8728.

It is understood that the proposed changes would provide transit authorities conditional authorization to make modifications to drinking water or sewage system works for transit projects under the City’s Consolidated Linear Infrastructure Environmental Compliance Approvals and Drinking Water Works Permits. Furthermore it is understood that alterations would be required to meet other mandatory pre-requisite conditions and be approved by the Owner of the municipal sewage and drinking water systems.
