This is a terrible idea…

This is a terrible idea. Traffic is caused by cars.
Eliminating bike lanes will result in many more bicycle rider deaths. Drivers will be more frustrated and upset when bicycles are driving in car lanes, as they have the legal right to do.
The purpose of bike lanes is to get bikes out of traffic which they are very good at as the rest of the world knows.
The best way to reduce gridlock is to reduce the number of cars in cities. Look at how the rest of the world does that.
