If you actually cared about gridlock on these streets, you'd spend your time and money improving the transit system and subways right under these streets. They carry far more commuters/people/workers/etc. than your surface streets could ever carry in cars.
But you knew this already yet you still act against it. Which means your motives are rooted instead in selfish interests - votes, money, etc. Shameful.
