I understand that Bill 212 will fast-track the construction of Highway 413 by exempting provincial environmental assessments. This is completely inappropriate. The fact that the government takes so long to plan for the needed transportation infrastructure must not excuse consideration for the environment we live in. We all know that we must consider long term impacts on the environment in order to make the best decisions for Ontarians and removing this requirement for such a large construction project is inexcusable.
