As a taxpayer in Prince Edward County I wish to state that it is a huge mistake to stop the White Pines Wind Project. It is foolish to take down turbines that are already standing and ready to go online. No carbon-free replacement has been proposed to take their place. This is a step backward. Our province, our country and the world agrees that we must move aggressively toward carbon-free energy. Local environmental impact is meaningless in the context of planetary devastation. I am against cancelling the White Pines Wind Project, and request that this issue be revisited in the light of a broader perspective as well as clear local support.
