We need to make bicycle use more prevalent in our lives so that we can reduce our fossil fuel emissions. This is the most important reason. Bicycles will help us fight the climate crisis. Every cycling journey is an emissions free journey.
Furthermore, if we do it well, and create good bicycle infrastructure like in many cities around the world, we will reduce traffic congestion.
Other benefits include a healthier population. Cycling is excellent exercise.
I feel that eliminating bike infrastructure is a step backwards, into the past.
Bicycles need to be part of the future of our mobility.
