The summary closure and…

The summary closure and repeal of so many programs, policies, and projects that have had a measurable positive impact on the state of our environment is one of the most troubling things that this new Conservative government has done since entering into office. If there were to be public consultation, with open records of all documentation, studies, results, etc. that show that these programs and projects are NOT beneficial then I would potentially support some of these changes. Making these kinds of decisions based only on emotion, or simply to buy political good will with a certain demographic is both short-sighted and reckless. These kinds of decisions will have a lasting impact on not only our province but on the world in general and should not be made lightly, as seems to be the case lately.

Do not cancel this project without first making a good faith effort to truly weigh the benefits and costs, and not only the financial benefits and costs, as the state of the environment goes to the very core of our survival.
