Cormorants have completely destroyed a small island on Rice Lake where we vacation. We actually have pictures, taken over a 10 year period, and you can see the damage to the point of destruction. We cannot see the number of panfish that have been eaten but it must be substantial. These birds MUST be controlled in some fashion and a hunt is a reasonable solution.
